From Collecting Health Data to Understanding It: Why I Built Age.I
How a personal experiment in connecting health data with AI led to building Age.I — a platform that helps you understand what your health data actually means.
Like many people, I’ve spent years collecting health data.
My smartwatch records workouts, heart rate, sleep, and activity. I log intermittent fasting, monitor body composition, keep track of supplements, and occasionally review blood test results. Every app gave me another dashboard, another graph, another collection of numbers.
The problem wasn’t a lack of data.
The problem was that none of it answered the question that actually mattered:
“What should I do differently tomorrow?”
The Missing Piece
Health doesn’t exist in isolated charts.
Your sleep affects your workouts. Your workouts affect your recovery. Your fasting schedule changes your metabolism. Genetics influence how your body responds to nutrition. Stress impacts everything.
Most health apps do a great job recording information, but very few attempt to understand how all those variables interact.
When large language models became capable enough, I realized something interesting.
Instead of asking AI isolated questions, what if I gave it the complete picture?
Building My Own AI Expert Panel
I created a personal AI health panel modeled after researchers and physicians at the forefront of longevity science.
Instead of analyzing one metric at a time, I provided as much context as possible:
- Wearable data
- Workout history
- Intermittent fasting schedule
- Supplement protocols
- Body composition
- Sleep quality
- Laboratory results
- Ancestry and genetics
- Lifestyle habits
- Environmental factors such as altitude and sun exposure
- Even past habits like smoking or drinking
The goal wasn’t to replace medical advice.
The goal was to have an intelligent system connect the dots between everything I already knew about myself.
The Results
The insights were genuinely useful.
I adjusted the timing and dosage of several supplements.
I reorganized my workout schedule to improve recovery.
I learned practical nutrition strategies to reduce insulin spikes after meals.
Most importantly, I stopped looking at isolated numbers and started understanding patterns.
Information is valuable.
Context is far more valuable.
From Personal Experiment to Product
That experiment eventually became Age.I.
Rather than another tracker, I wanted to build something that helps people understand what their health data actually means.
Today, Age.I includes:

- Body composition, biometrics, laboratory results, ancestry, and genetics
- Lifestyle, sleep, and recovery tracking
- Importing data from Apple Health, Garmin, and Fitbit, with additional integrations planned
- Care Profiles, allowing you to manage multiple people from a single account, whether that’s family members, loved ones, or clients
The heart of the platform is its AI Longevity Audits.
Using a carefully engineered system prompt inspired by longevity research, the AI evaluates how all of your data interacts across multiple disciplines, including metabolism, exercise physiology, endocrinology, nutrition, cardiovascular health, neurology, and more.
Instead of simply telling you what happened yesterday, it helps you understand what deserves your attention next.
Privacy Matters
Health data is among the most personal information we generate.
That’s why Age.I was designed with a privacy-first approach.
There are no ads.
No tracking.
No analytics SDKs.
No unnecessary permissions such as contacts, camera, or location.
It’s delivered as a lightweight Progressive Web App that works on desktop, Android, and iPhone without requiring constant app store updates.
Looking Ahead
We’re entering an era where collecting health data is no longer the difficult part.
Making sense of it is.
I believe AI has the potential to transform personal health, not by replacing doctors, but by helping people understand their own information better, identify patterns earlier, and make more informed day-to-day decisions.
After all, dashboards tell you what happened.
